Message from our Founder, Zach Popp

Homes shouldn’t hurt people. That was the first thing that came to mind when toxic mold in the walls of our home made my daughter sick.

That experience made me think a lot about building materials and methods. I went on a journey to find a material that would solve the problem mold growth. At first, I thought that mold growth in homes was rare, sadly it isn’t. 70% of homes have some degree of mold. I knew this was a problem worth solving. I ended up finding a material that was not just mold resistant, but also pest, fire and rot resistant. That material is hempcrete. I saw some challenges with getting hempcrete mainstream, specifically the labor involved in installation and extensive drying time. I spent years developing the Z Panel to overcome those challenges.
